Project Description

MARING-HUNT PUBLIC LIBRARY COMMUNITY GARDEN AND MARKET PAVILION

The goal of this project was to develop a market pavilion and community garden for the Muring-Hunt Public Library and Southview Middle School. The scope of the project included the design and construction of a learning wall, market pavilion, kitchen, children play spaces, and a community garden. I had the pleasure to be apart of the learning wall team. The learning wall is a space connected to the market pavilion that served as an interactive learning space for the children and learning programs of the public library, middle school and Muncie community. This space includes interactive planter boxes, gathering space for reading and lessons, places to pin up art and a free library. This project was completed in conjunction with the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning, Muncie Lowe's and the Muncie Habitat for Humanity.
